For many and various reasons, girls and women can often feel as though there is something blocking them from realising their full potential: a barrier between them and self-fulfilment. Through arts awareness and creativity, the Foundation believes that women can overcome these barriers and express themselves in an empowering and uplifting way that enables their personal development and well-being.
The Foundation is proud of its three-fold approach, which works to ensure that all women have access to the resources and support that they need in order to flourish.
1. The Fagun Foundation Community Programmes
Local Community Programmes
The Local Community Programmes organise a support system of like-minded women who can connect and grow together through creative expression. Creative practitioners work to guide women through the creative arts, covering a variety of disciplines such as writing, performing, dancing, acting, singing and storytelling. We help girls and women realise their potential by providing a safe space for female self-expression. These programs are open to all ages and with different classes for different age groups, ensuring that no girl or woman feels unable to express herself.
Global Community Programmes
Uniquely, The Fagun Foundation Global Community Programmes provide a community for women who are studying, travelling and working abroad. For many people, arriving in a new and unknown environment can feel daunting and isolating. The Fagun Foundation offers creative programmes enabling women to adjust more easily when arriving in a new city, thanks to our welcoming and inclusive community. The programme then offers the opportunity to transition to the Local Community Programme; this is particularly aimed for women who find themselves living-long term in their new environment and enables them to become a part of the supportive community.
2. The Global Network of Professional Mentors
The Foundation is proud to work with a global network of creative professionals who seek to empower and guide women that are currently unable to achieve their full potential. By matching up participants with a mentor based on their specific interests, needs, creative profile and location, our mentors provide one on one guidance and support to the women and girls who need it most. In offering invaluable advice and support, our mentors work to empower women to develop both their professional and personal well-being.
3. The Fagun Foundation Schools
Our ultimate goal is to establish a network of schools where we educate arts awareness and creative expression. The Fagun Foundation Schools in flagship locations will provide teaching in the creative disciplines of writing, performing, dancing, acting, storytelling and many other creative outlets. The Foundation Schools will allow women to learn new skills whilst developing the confidence and independence to use these skills to achieve their own unique goals.
In all three of our programmes, we prioritise the establishment of a strong and supportive female community, which is key to increasing personal and professional development and well being.
